I've had trouble using VMware/JaS 10.4.7/Acronis due to HFS+ errors and could not resolve it with fdisk.

Instead I've decided to use the tiger-x86-flat.img method. Is this version 10.4.1? Can someone confirm for me?

I guess my main concern here is, can I use JaS 10.4.8 Intel SSE3 Combo Update effectively in this situation?

Also, if anyone has any tips, suggestions or their own experiences not outlined in the wiki using this method, please let me know :(

Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is 10.4.1 and no you can not update it with the 10.4.8 updater.

Is there a more recent release that I can use the chain0/dd/windows bootloader method with?

Or can you recommend some other installation methods?

I'm only speculating, but is it possible to convert a VMware vmdk to img and use that image file with the chain0/dd method?

Is this new JaS release done through VMware?

I had trouble doing a native DVD boot of 10.4.7.

Yes, it is a new release. It has the new kernel, so your chances are supposed to be better for a native boot.

No problem, I hope it works for you :(
