Dougmwpsu
hi all, pretty new to the osx86 scene, and i'm building a new computer so that i'll be able to get in on the action. i have an opportunity to grab a good deal on a mobo, cpu, ram combo off hardocp, and i was about to jump on it, but i thought i'd ask all your option first. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813135027 -mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819116253 -cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820178089 -mem it looks like the ram and cpu is a non issue. i think the Pentium d series all support sse3, so i'm most worried about the motherboard. does this have a decent chance of working? if so i'll go for it because this is a pretty good combo deal. thanks all and congradulate me on my first post! Overdriven
What would you use for video acceleration? The board has an S3 Unichrome ({censored} IGP). By the way... It never hurts to check the HCL on the Wiki....
Dougmwpsu
i did check the wiki, but the board wasn;t specifically mentioned. i'm not sure if it's possible to compare chipsets to see if it would work or if it's essentially a gamble on if your motherboard is compatible. \ i'll be using a radeon 9600 for video and hopefully i can get the onboard audio working. if not, i have a usb soundcard that does stereo out only that should be compatible.
