Eurofighter_Ty2016
Hi, I have a Gigabyte B85M-D2V motherboard with ALC 887 chip and with AppleALC the sound doesn't work on the back panel only front panel. I have 3 ports on the back (Mic, Audio, Line In) (this order from left to right) and 2 on the front (sound and mic). I don't really care about the front panel but how can I get the back panel working ? I tried the scripts on the Audio section but only the front panel works with audio without mic. I tried setting audio layout from 1-3 nothing. How can I sort this out ? I posted in Audio section and nothing usefull. Here are some debug files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4c9tlTAV_M0YWRmVjlxSmFOTnc/view Thank you very much ! Toleda method just remove AppleALC I tried the the first one: in config.plist under kexts to patch I don't have anything. Layout 1: I have audio on back panel but no mic on front or back panel Layout 2: I have audio on front panel but no mic on front or back panel Layout 3: No audio but mic on back panel. So this is a layout problem ? How can I patch it or something ? Morpheus NS
You need to copy clover fixes to config.plist and also aDummyHDA.kext. I think that aDummyHDA works only in /System/Library/Extensions so you have to install it using EasyKext Utility (or any other kext tool) and fix permissions. EasyKext Utility does this automatically. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/313869-alc-887-audio/#findComment-2261644 Share on other sites

I moved the AppleALC file on the EFI partition and the back panel was working (showing built in at the sperakers and the mic) BUT after I rebooted once more is dead..... (front panel works (audio and mic is dead) Why after one more reboot after install is dead ? Morpheus NS
No idea, sorry. I only know how to follow the instructions. I hope you will find the solution. Which layout did you use? In my case, with 3 (erm...ports?) on the back, it was layout 5. Eurofighter_Ty2016
I tried and the mic doesn't work on the back and front. Just sound on front and back. On Windows it works so my mic and ports are ok Sent from my Moto G using Tapatalk Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/313869-alc-887-audio/#findComment-2262193 Share on other sites
Slice
Install VoodooHDA.prefPane and move sliders to get a sound. ALC887 on Gigabyte motherboard must work with VoodooHDA.
