Hagar
For AC97 sound see: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Audio As for the wireless, see elsewhere on this forum, but I think its unlikely to work. To dual boot, the easiest for you is the "chain0 method" you will need to copy the file /usr/standalone/i386/chain0 from your OSX to the root of your windows partition, add: C:\chain0="Mac OS X86" to your boot.ini, and set your windows partition as active. You may need to reset your master boot record using "fixmbr" or "fdisk /mbr" . If you're familiar with linux, then I find the manipulation of partitions & boot sectors most easily acomplished with a live CD. I hope this helps

ghw9132
thanx for reply, but could you tell me more detail, step by step, i m kind a newbie for this.where on the windows partition? and how to add the "C:\chain0="Mac OS X86 to the boot.ini " just type in? right now my hd is complete blank, which system should i install first? is that matter? and the usb dvd-rom seems not working either, is there any diver for that? thanx a lot. and when install the osx, which osx format should i choose? is that matter? Please people, use the search. I have posted numerous times on how to setup the bootloader and i'm sure other people have. Oh well, here we go again. To use the windows bootloader: Copy the chain0 file to the root directory of your hard disk (c:\) double click on the boot.ini file (hidden) type at the end of the file c:\chain0="MacOS X86" make sure a timeout is set (default is 30 seconds) Save and reboot. To use the darwin bootloader: boot to macos with the dvd. Open the startup disk control panel (located in system preferences) select the macos folder. Close the control panel. in textedit or nano (terminal) add the following to the apple.com.Boot.plist file <key>Timeout</key> <string>8</string> <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>No</string> Save and reboot. fixarvesslan
Hello, I'm also trying to install OSX86 on my X1 but after the "grey-apple-on-white-bg-screen" all that happens is that the green turn light blue and then nothing. Have you had this problem? Or do you have any idea what i could try?
Berylium
Fixarvesslan, I am currently experiencing the same problem. I installed OS X using the 10.4.4 DVD with 10.4.5 maxximus hack. Everything installed without a hitch. When I boot I don't see the grey background with apple logo, I see all the initilizations running (I know there's a flag to hide that stuff) but once it's done the screen turns a light blue and stays that way. I'm still searching the forums for anyone who has had a similar problem. -Berylium
