Hi,

I have a successfully installed OSX (El Capitan 10.11.4) via Clover legacy, everything is working, sleep, sound, iMessage, graphics acceleration and USB2 ports but my USB3 ports are not working and are not showed in the IOREG because I had to disable the USB3 controller in BIOS, it was the only way to get my USB installer working and get to the clover menu, otherwise I was stick with the message 'boot1: /boot 5'. After the installation I tried to enable the USB3 controller but I got the same eternal message. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi Allan, good to hear from you again :)

Actually, I want to edit my DSDT to get my USB3 recognized at least to use it as USB2. As I understand XHCI is the controller interface for USB2 & USB3, so I was looking to XHC1 in my DSDT to rename it to XHC but I didn't find it, here is my DSDT, could you please take a look at it? Thanks

P.S. My two rear USB3 ports are on NEC uPD720200 host controller.

Hi Allan, I've tested every USB ports, here the results:

When using USB 1.0 devices:

Front port (1) address : 1d100000

Back ports (8) : 5d100000, 5d200000, 5a100000, 5a200000, 3a100000, 3a200000, 1a100000, 1a200000.

When using USB 2.0 devices:

Front port (1) address : fd100000.

Back ports (8) : fa100000, fa200000, fa300000, fa 400000, fa500000, fa600000, fd500000, fd600000.

When using USB key (1.0 or 2.0) on USB 3.0 ports (2): nothing's happening, no change in the IOreg at all. Maybe because of the USB3 controller which is disabled in Bios?

Edit : just a reminder I can't boot when I enable the USB3 controller, I got an eternal message "boot1: /boot 5".

Is very strange why this error is related with USB 3

You remember what options you used to install Clover?

E.g:

I installed El Capitan using the following clover options :

- Boot0af in MBR (also tried boot0ss in MBR),

- CloverEFI 64-bits SATA,

Yes.

Edit : I'm using clover for the first time, in the past, I mean for Mavericks and Yosemite I used unib**st and Multi***t and I never had that problem. But I never had full acceleration, always freezing and no iMessage that's why I choose Clover.

Edit: I guess it's related with El Capitan, cause the very first time I used Unib**st to install El Capitan and I got the same problem.

Hmm now we can know what is the problem.  -_-

Maybe is a conflict with Clover + Tonymac tools, we don't know what these tools do in your system.

My advice is, use 100% Clover and our tools, and we can give you the proper support.

But, if you want persist, i recommend you ask for Clover devs why boot1: /boot 5 are not loaded.

I did a clean install using the last version of clover using a guide published in this forum, a very good guide by the way, but still have that problem when enabling USB3 controller in BIOS.

Well, I'm going forward following your advice to ask help from Clover devs, thanks Allan for all :)

Then all you need to do is install the latest version of rehabman's generic usb3 kext.

Thanks for the info, but the problem is more complicated than it seems to be, by the way, the best solution for my mobo is to buy a pci-e x1 USB3. Thanks for everyone's help. :)
