hi everyone

I have been using a budget build that dual boots windows and mavericks. I started with a gigabyte h81m-ds2v motherboard, and an LGA 1150 celeron g1840. for a gpu, I had an MSI GT 610. i was able to install and boot by using a FAKECPUID in clover, and the Graphics card worked without the need for additional drivers. I do, however, have performance issues and want to upgrade the CPU. I have learned it is possible to install El Capitan with a Skylake cpu. I am willing to replace the motherboard, but i am concerned about graphics working properly, as i installed a  Geforce GTX 950 in january, and am only able to boot mavericks with a fakeid for the card, and the card still doesn't work properly. I use the gtx 950 primarily for pc gaming on my windows installation, and do not want to remove it. I have read various posts on various sites stating that the 900 series geforce cards work on el capitan, but I am not clear on the 950 in particular, and if it needs additional drivers. If it is not compatible, I am ok with using the HD 5300 graphics in the skylake i5 cpus, assuming they are compatible.

Sorry, that may have been confusing, that was more of background info. So in a nutshell:

-Is the Nvidia GTX 950 compatible with El Capitan? If so, do i need additional drivers?

-If not, are the Intel Integrated HD5300 graphics compatible?

-If neither of these are compatible, is it possible to use my GT 610 in OS X and GTX 950 in windows?

Thanks in advance!

Q1: Yes, 950 should work with Web Drivers from Nvidia. Afaik

Q2: HD530 is only partially supported, I don't think we got enough support for it yet.

Q3: GT 610 should work, but with a hassle. This would also work with Web Drivers from Nvidia.

First, Thank you for the quick reply!

That is a relief that the 950 will work. The only thing is, the drivers i've seen for OS X don't show the 900 series in the supported devices list, just some older ones. will that driver still work?

I found the drivers mentioned right here: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/96651/en-us

I think it should still work, I got a Titan and it is not listed but it still works with the Web Drivers.
