nuovida Posted February 29, 2016 Share Posted February 29, 2016 I managed to install OSX 10.11.1 on vware 12 on my Surface Pro 4 and then updated to 10.11.3 . Followed a few tips to get the native resolution of full screeen. - xxxxxxx using the EFI Bootloader option. Now it look gorgeous. But too small size of fonts/taskbars/ and everything , with a lot of real estate but not poosible to work On a native macbook there is an option to SCALE toward larger text with the same resolution . the same is in windows 10 for surface pro very the size is sacled to 200% I have also managed to find out a way to change resolutions using vmware-resolutionset command in the terminal . BUT, unable to get to a correct size. Request help on getting things right - either how to enable the screen resoluion to scale towards larger text and other things. or the workbale resolution using the terminal command which will fit for surface pro 4. appreciate your kind support. nuovida Posted March 1, 2016 Author Share Posted March 1, 2016 thanks Sir, GOt that to optimized reolution . but the performance of he VM is affected now with some. lag. any other tips/tricks to optimize the performance.? also the dock is not transparent. any thoughts / workaround on that would be really helpful sir. lahmefc Posted March 27, 2016 Share Posted March 27, 2016 Hi all! I have a Surface Book with native resolution 3000x2000. VMtools fixes most of everything and allows full screen view, but like OP states - everything is tiny! So I tried the bootloader method and changing the config.plist file to my native resolution - this somehow made the screen extremely wide-screen like and wouldn't go full screen. As if the aspect ratio was off. I now reinstalled VMtools but have the same problem as before, everything is tiny. I tried running " sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist DisplayResolutionEnabled -bool true" from the terminal, but nothing happened! Any ideas on how to scale up everything to fit the resolution?
