kosakgroove
Hi community! This question has been intriguing me. I know that the default sleep mode for portable Macs used to be 3. But as all the Macs have secure virtual memory enabled by default since OSX Lion, shouldn’t the value for hibernate mode in a Hackintosh also be 7? My girlfriends MacbookPro has 7 by default. I’ve tested sleep and it works perfectly in my Hack (1st in signature) with this mode. I am just wondering if deep sleep will now work, because it didn’t work using values that were different from 29, and then after 2 days it stopped working with any mode. I still hadn't tried Hibernatemode 7. Maybe this has something to do with secure virtual memory? I am already using OSxAptioFixDrv2.efi for proper wake from hibernation, as well as slide kernel parameter. I am not using CSMVideoDxe.efi. I use dark wake boot flag too, so that sleep works. Anyway, how can I now test deep sleep? In hibernation mode 7 (same as 3 but for secure virtual memory) computer goes to normal sleep, and when it loses power it writes RAM contents to hard drive. Any way for me to check if deep sleep works, without causing an intentional battery drain? I am open to trying any suggestion given! Thanks in advance!
