E-Chris
I've got a Samsung 850 Evo SSD that is connected to a Sata III port. If I look in system information I can see that the Intel 8 series sata III port shows that it's 6GB/s capable, but my SSD shows that it's running as 3GB/s instead. Does anyone know what this might be the case? I'd like to get it running at full speed. E-Chris
Yeah I'm only getting around 250MB/s with a drive that should do closer to 500MB/s. Bios is set in AHCI mode. Were would I find a undated chipset kext? I believe I'm running the vanilla kext included in the OS (10.10.4) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/310752-ssd-only-running-at-3gbs-instead-of-6gbs-on-sata-iii/#findComment-2213133 Share on other sites
vusun123
With the specs of your rig in your signature ? Can you bench your SSD in Windows ? Some OEMs e.g Sony make Ivy Bridge laptops with SATA 3 capable but decide to connect it to SATA 2 port Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/310752-ssd-only-running-at-3gbs-instead-of-6gbs-on-sata-iii/#findComment-2213135 Share on other sites
