  1. Yeah I'm only getting around 250MB/s with a drive that should do closer to 500MB/s. Bios is set in AHCI mode. Were would I find a undated chipset kext? I believe I'm running the vanilla kext included in the OS (10.10.4)
  2. I've got a Samsung 850 Evo SSD that is connected to a Sata III port. If I look in system information I can see that the Intel 8 series sata III port shows that it's 6GB/s capable, but my SSD shows that it's running as 3GB/s instead. Does anyone know what this might be the case? I'd like to get it running at full speed. Thanks

Clover Install to UEFI HDD Problem

More info: When I launch the shell from the USB stick it says: "UEFI v2.40 (CLOVER, ...) When I launch the shell from the HDD it says: "UEFI v2.10 (American Megatrends) The shell on the USB won't seem to let me write entries via bcfg to my BIOS, but seems to be a newer shell. I'm wondering if the shell on the HDD will let me write those entries? But it's old and isn't working. Where is this older shell coming from and is it possible to update?

Clover Install to UEFI HDD Problem

Thanks for the reply! When I try that I get entries in my BIOS for Clover, but it boots to a completely black screen instead of booting to the Clover bootloader.
  5. I'm having trouble getting Clover installed and an option for boot on my internal HDD. I've installed Yosemite using UEFI clover from a UEFI USB stick. I've installed Clover to my HDD in a EFI (Fat 32) partition. And copied over my clover config and files. USB Clover Entry: I've tried using the add entry command from Clover on the USB stick, it adds an entry into my BIOS, but when I try to use that I get a black screen with a blinking courser in the upper left. If I try to add it manually via bcfg using the USB stick my entries do seem to be accepted but never show up in the bios. HDD Clover Entry: I found that if I copy "cloverx64.efi" to the root of the EFI partition and rename it "shellx64.efi" that I can launch Clover without the USB by selecting "Load UEFI Shell from file system device" in the BIOS. Clover launches and can boot to Yosemite if I do this, but this requires me to enter into the BIOS and launch the shell every time. Trying to add entries via Clover results in BIOS entries that go to a black screen. If I try to launch a shell from Clover and add entries manually bcfg won't work and it appears this shell version is different than the one launched from the USB. (Older, maybe reading from the BIOS itself?) It seems like I need to make bcfg work from the HDD, but the shell that gets launched is older and doesn't seem to work. Will updating my BIOS fix that? Is there a way to update the shell itself? Why is the version on the USB working and the version on the HDD not? (They are both using the same Clover version). Any thoughts would be incredibly appreciated.
  6. If I use a DSDT for my board I can use Toleda's ALC audio script to enable audio, but I will lose my ability to put the system to sleep/hibernate. If I remove the DSDT sleep works fine, but then Toleda's ALC audio scripts don't work. Is there a way to enable audio with a DSDT? I'm using EFI Clover. My audio is a ALC 898. Thanks
  7. My ALC898 Audio continues to stop working after a few hours. Everything is fine for 2-4 hours and than it just ceases to work unless I reboot. I've tried two different AppleHDA files and two different DSDT implimentations. Has anyone had this problem before and have a possible solution or ideas on where to look to fix the problem?

No CUDA on Yosemite with GTX580

I have Yosemite booting and running fine, but I've noticed that my GTX580 card is no longer being recognized as a CUDA capable card. If I launch CUDA-Z it says not CUDA Hardware found, and the same with Adobe apps. CUDA use to work under 10.8. What's changed that's preventing it from working now? Is there any way I can re-enable it to function? Does anyone have CUDA working on other nvidia gfx cards?
  10. I recently got Yosemite installed on my machine and it seems to run great, the problem is that everytime I try to shut down or restart it takes forever to do so. Sometimes I will see a message about "userspace teardown took xxxxxx" and then if finally restarts/shuts down. Has anyone had this issue and do you have any fixes? How can I go about figuring out what is causing the slowdown so I can fix it?
  11. I picked up a HighPoint 2680 as it listed that it had OS X support - turns out that driver support ended with 10.5 - I'm assuming there's no way I can get this card to work in may hack is there? It uses a Marvell 88SE6485 chipset. If that doesn't work, I know the 2721 card will work, but it's a bit more pricy than the 2720 (the PC version) which I would prefer to use. Am I stuck with the 2721 as that's the only card with OS X driver support, or is there a way to change the 2721 driver to work with the 2720?
  12. I've discoverd that if I have a RED Rocket PCIe card in my system it causes my firewire 400 port to have problems (it works, but not very well). I'm trying to use my firewire 400 port to monitor audio out a MBox but it won't work as long as I have the RED Rocket PCIe card in the system. It doesn't matter what slot that card is in, and I've tried both Firewire 400 outputs, as long as that card is there it screws up the audio. Everything works fine if I boot it into windows, but doesn't when in OSX. Is this a DSDT problem? A driver problem? I'm not sure really where to start to diagnose and fix this problem and would love any help or advice I can get. Thanks

    Disabler for AppleTyMCEDriver.kext ?

    Awesome. Thank you!
  14. Does anyone have a Disabler for the AppleTyMCEDriver.kext? Or can someone help me figure out how I would make one. If I don't disable this kext my system won't boot (because I'm using an i5 instead of an i7 CPU), I've been deleting it, but would prefer to use a disabler so that I don't need to worry about it anymore. Thanks

    GTX 590?

I'm thinking about picking up a GTX 590. Have people been able to get the card to function fully? From what I've gathered it seems like one core will be recognized the other will not. Have people been able to get both processors to be recognized in Lion? Thanks
