ilpala
Hi, I have clover + yosemite 10.10.3 working on my pc. I made this installation on an H81M-k + g3220 cpu + gtx dedicated card. everythings work fine. 3 months ago i changed to an h81m-c + g3258 and the same graphic card. i just plug in the hard disk and after changing a setting in the bios, and my old installation of yosemite booted up without any problem. Now i just bought a Gigabyte H81N-D2H. I will use the same gpu and cpu. Will clover boot without any problem or should i do a clean installation on this new mobo? Allan
Clover is not a problem. You'll have issues if you use ACPI patches, like: DSDT or SSDT In this case, you just need extract the DSDT/SSDT and apply the patches that you needed. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/310255-changing-mobo-will-work-out-of-the-box/#findComment-2204006 Share on other sites

Allan
Put all your modified kexts in Clover's folder 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/310255-changing-mobo-will-work-out-of-the-box/#findComment-2204336 Share on other sites
ilpala
Ok, it works. I tried 3 different mobo and from my experience i can say that if you have a clean installation of clover with yosemite and you didn't patch anything, it will work. Just pay attention to: 1) Install clover in an usb and boot from it. maybe some kext installed can cause panic. So better boot from an usb with the minimum kext (cpu power management ecc) 2) Check the cpuid!! modify it if you also change your cpu. 3) Most important --> if the usb (or your hard drive) in not booting correctly, CHECK if your mobo support UEFI boot. If not, you must install clover as not uefi. google it and you will find how to do (i don't have the link right now) we consider the topic closed.
