Hi all,

Actually, before i can install and use OS 10.11 Normally with gigabyte X79 UD3, E5 1620 V2 and AMD HD7970Ghz. However, i cannot boot my os any more since i changed my CPU from E5 1620 V2 to E5 2680 V2. I try to reinstall the OS 10.11, and unfortunately, i cannot boot to installer either. In my opinion, it is not relationship of AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext Coz i have already use NullCPUPowerManagement.kext. Another error message is: No hepts available....I try to enable hepts on my BIOS but i cannot find this option. Any body can help with this situation? Many thanks!

Try booting with only two or four cores, you should be able to disables cores in the UEFI BIOS.

Keep using the NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, please list your system specs... Bootloader ver, config.plist or chameleonboot.plist, DSDT, SSDT, anything like USB3 on your board is disabled, basically list info to see how's and why's about your install

Also boot with -x

In ElCap do you have the SIP, disabled upon boot?

dear Hangten,

thanks very much for your response. i found my gigabyte x79 ud3 bios cannot limit the no. of my CPU cores. and by reason of my company's network limit, i cannot upload the attachment this moment. i will upload later. i confused that why e5 1620 v2 was normally but e5 2680 v2 even cannot boot to installer.

Page 40 in your owners manual,

  • ` Advanced CPU Core Features &  CPU Core Enabled (Note 1)

  •

  •

    •   CPU Core Enabled (Note 1)
Allows you to determine the number of CPU cores you want to enable. Auto lets the BIOS automatically con gure this setting. (Default: Auto)

However if you had it working before I'm just thinking it must be something els causing the panic with that CPU installed

Correct me but it was working fine and all you did was swap cpu's and you really have not changed anything and your installer is untouched from E5 1620 V2?

NullCPUPowerManagement.kext was this always used with the E5 1620V2?

Hi, Hangten

Yes, i just swap my CPU from 1620 v2 to 2680 v2 without changing anything else. I installed and used the OS normally without NullCPUPowerManagement.kext before.

This happens when you SSDT/DSDT does not match , you would have profiles

You may have to regenerate..make sure you are not using back your old dsdt/ssdt

This has happened to my when I swapped out the processor

Thanks for your response, however, i have already removed all the dsdt and ssdt from the clover. I want confirm that if OS10.11 support 10 cores CPU? I really confuse with this situation.

Hmm strange no HPETs , anyway have you checked do you have NullCPUPowerManagement.kext loaded or is properly inside ?

By the way does 10.10 boot ?

dear Prasys,

i tried 10.10 and 10.11, both of them pop this error. even if i move the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext.
