urig-herb
Cool! I'm using the Microsoft Digital Sound System 80 USB (ironic, isn't it?) it it works flawlessly. So I don't have to mess around with AC97 support (see my config below). macgirl
for USB sound cards you dont need a specific Driver, Mac OS comes with it. Only if the USB sound card needs it should com with. Wanja
These are the facts: I installed Mac and my 510ex isn't showing as output device in my sound settings. I installed SoundBlaster.USB.Audio.Support.pkg, but that didn't help. I'm a newbie and not quite sure what to do next... yet... Any help would be appreciated... Wanja
Started over again. I have now a fresh install with the usb sound support checked from the install menu. However I have no sound output devices that I can select from. Not really sure what to do next. Any help would be appreciated, thanx. macgirl
Maybe your card is not a Stardar USB sound, does your card work in Windows without drivers? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3095-usb-sound/#findComment-321042 Share on other sites
Wanja
Yes it does. After a fresh install of Windows, I do have sound. I also looked up the usb devices connected to my computer with system profiler and it shows that a USB Audio is connected. However when I look up my sound settings no device for sound output can be selected. I also have the same device as MetaByte here, the Trust 510ex sound expert. Wanja
I installed the USB Audio HAL plugin driver 1.3.0 demo from mac.softpedia.com. This resulted in sound output from the front speakers, however every minute it gives a beep, maybe because it's a demo? So I can output sound, but as you can imagine I'm not yet really satisfied. Does this give anyone a clue to help me get further? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3095-usb-sound/#findComment-323670 Share on other sites

Wanja
The demo is indeed free, but in order to get rid of the beep, I think you have to buy it. When you install the software, you get a "USB Audio demo" device in your sound settings. However, I was hoping to install a kext that enables my trust 510ex device or something... Wanja
Does anyone have a clue why I do get input channels in my input sound settings when I plug in my USB Audio, but no output channels?
