Intel Pentium D - CPU

ATI Radeon 200 Xpress series - Graphics Card

2GB Ram

OS: OS X Yosemite

I have managed to install Yosemite on the system mentioned above, however as you may know.... The graphics doesn't have much attention. So I thought I would start by getting it to work.

Any suggestions and any kexts to get started with?

As far as i know, it works but thats it. You cannot enable QE/CI since it doesn't support it.

The only way is to buy some cheap nVidia or Radeon.

New, GT210 and HD5450 comes to mind, as they're cheapest, work great and are supported by any PSU.

Out of interest which part is unsupported (integration, memory...)

(The image of my problem)

There is a thick black line on the side of all applications that I open.

Is this a problem with my grpahics or is this maybe the kernel.

Also can someone please upload the latest legacy kernel for 10.10.0.

maybe your ig-platform-id is not the good one, then you have not a good ram or something else relative to framebuffer.

some info about your system config ? clover config ?

seems to be an unsupported graphic cards ...

good luck with it.

that is not a kernel problem. keep yours.

By system config do you mean my bootlegs or something if so:

cpus=1

"Graphics Mode"="1600x1200x32"

And that is all

And also how do I get good ig-platform-id

I am using Chameleon

You can't change graphics mode that way. Its fixed at 1024x768 since it is unsupported card. You could try changing it with Callisto B3 but you cannot get QE/CI out of it.

For the thick black line, see if it changes or disappears when you change scroll bar settings, maybe?

Also, turn off transparency and all other fancy things, maybe its caused by that...

I fixed the issue by changing it to another amd kernel and turning off 'fancy things'

Also I get my 1600x1200 res fine with that bootflag however the monitor says out of range but still shows screen underneath. I found a trick that pressing both volume buttons on monitor removes message.

Also my real res is 1280x1024

Anyway thanks to everyone on insanlymac for getting me from Snow Leopard to Yosemite on my very poor old (2006) PC!
