miggo3 Posted October 21, 2006 Share Posted October 21, 2006 I have installed OSX to my IDE/PATA-drive and my Windows to SATA-drive. I want that those two drives are separated. I mean every time when i launch OSX i get some errors from SATA drives. I want to DISABLE SATA-drive in OSX. PLEASE HELP QUICK! I think (hope) that this is easy job for somebody... If that's the case, do what Soundless says, and when you want to use Windows, shut your Mac down, plug in the Windows HD, the unplug the Mac HD, check the jumpers, then boot Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

(Sorry for my english.....) I also install OSX to IDE and XP to SATA but without a problem as yours. And I no need to do as above: used this one and un-plug the other. Callysto Posted October 22, 2006 Share Posted October 22, 2006 I have Mac OS on one drive PATA and Windows on the other SATA and just select the drive I want to boot to using an F key. I did install windows with the PATA drive disconnected though then when that was up and running connected the PATA drive and installed Mac OS X on it. It works perfectly this way.
