Harvey
Hi, can anyone tell me sum relatively cheap sound cards that will work on OS X? Thanks Harvey
Elrithranduil
You can buy the Soundblaster Live 24 bit external. Its about 50 euros here and works like a charm. One thing that doesnt work however is the Line-In but for the rest the sound is absolute beauty and completely plug-and-play.
Harvey
Oh right that sounds pretty cool, do you know of any other ones where everything works on them and maybe a bit cheaper. Something like an iMic but maybe not so expensive.

Hagar
I use a cheapo usb headset adapter that is so no-brand it's hard to find a decent link.. there's a manufacturers site in hungary, but it's infested with such bad flash that you can rarely get at the actual products... It looks like this: and is sold under a number of non-brands. the insides are c-media, and it does all you need for input & output provided you are not an audiophile. if it fails to work, you need an earlier version if the usb drivers, easiest thing is to install the usb soundblaster support package off the JaS DVD. Oh, and if you have a soundblaster 128 or similar lying around, try it with maxxuss' 1371 driver, it works well for some, or if you have a c-media 8738 based card, dogbert's driver will give you output at least.
