ysg Posted October 20, 2006 Share Posted October 20, 2006 hi i have sound icon in the tray and i can increase and decrease volume i have output as line out ac97 audio pcm i have input as for example mic and i can see the input level change when i use the mic i have jas 10.4.7, ss2 only i dont know the vendor id and codec id of my ac97 chip and cant look from windows cos i dont have windows but if it is possible i can boot with a live linux cd and do lspci or check out dmesg output but i dont think that will give vendor or codec ids but i cant hear any sound from the speakers here is the screenshot showing my ac97 info Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30802-ac97-output-problem-solved/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

Have you tried put the output lead to the speaker in a different hole, like the subwoofer etc? perfect0 Posted October 24, 2006 Share Posted October 24, 2006 I have a Sigmatel C-Major on my Inspiron 9200 that also uses the AC97 driver but it sounds very weak as if my subwoofer isn't working.
