pittguy53178
Just wondering if I should create installation media with El Capitan instead of yosemite if I have a Maxwell card. Would it automatically be recognized? Or at least fewer issues which could "hang" an installation. mais_um
Hi if I have a Maxwell card. Would it automatically be recognized? No. Is not automatically recognised at least EL Capitan GM public for Maxwell cards. You have to disable Nvidia driver. Clover have a "nv_disable=1" to install OSX and first boot after installation until Nvidia web drivers are proper put in place. Needs "nvda_drv=1" in boot args.EL Capitan GM look great for now with a GTX 960 Gigabyte G1 (Motherboard Z97 Gaming 3 from Gigabyte and a i5-4670K CPU) Quick comparison EL Capitan vs Yosemite GLView https://www.dropbox.com/home/Public?preview=Yosemite+10.10.5+2015-09-11+at+15.44.45.png https://www.dropbox.com/s/4dgir4qo5nhdr1b/EL%20Capitan%20GM%202015-09-11%20at%2015.40.06.png?dl=0 Edited September 11, 2015 by mais_um Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/308005-have-nvidia-maxwell-card-should-i-use-capitan-instead-of-yosemite/#findComment-2167104 Share on other sites
