jujubeanie21
You can't ust pop it in as it is; it needs to be patched. You're probably better off if you just download a prepatched one... Make sure your hardware is compatible though. Apple Freak
You need to 1. Check if your computer is compatible(wiki.osx86project.org) 2. If it is, download a pathed image from bittorent(Mostly found on PirateBay. Burn it using Nero) 3. Burn the image through a DVD Burner, then pop it into your DVD Rom at the moment you push the power button(Make sure you set first boot from your DVD Rom, to do that, go into the bios and change the boot sequence or the priority) 4. Once you're in the manu, go to Utilities--> Disk Utility--> Select your HD erase it. then press Alt+Q to quit 5. Click next until you see the install button, click on Customize and go to the OSx86 Hacks and select your CPU(either SSE2 or SSE3 find it out with CPU-Z in Windows) 6. It will reboot and it will tell you to do the register, again Alt+Q to skip it then create your account. 7. Happy Mac!! (Ask any question in the future) You're Welcome : ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30796-n00b-question-here-can-i-use-a-friends-legal-osx86-cd/#findComment-213537 Share on other sites

Apple Freak
I don't think there is a CD version of OSx68 installation Disc, but the PPC based OS X has a CD version Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30796-n00b-question-here-can-i-use-a-friends-legal-osx86-cd/#findComment-214062 Share on other sites
pnkskatergt
Well actually some gateways use efi, you can install on those but it prolly wont work because of hardware issues But you dont own a gateway so dont worry. to find the right DVD (There are no CD versions) go to www.torrentz.com and search for " OS X 10.4.7 " download sumthin that look like this " Mac-OS-X-10.4.7-AMD.Intel-(JaS)-ISO-Repack " and download it. once it completes burn it to DVD with nero Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30796-n00b-question-here-can-i-use-a-friends-legal-osx86-cd/#findComment-214073 Share on other sites
AriX
I don't think there is a CD version of OSx68 installation Disc, but the PPC based OS X has a CD version There is no CD version, but if you can't burn a DVD try one of the VMWare methods. (Physical Disk, dd, or VMWare Virtualization with no booting to osx) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30796-n00b-question-here-can-i-use-a-friends-legal-osx86-cd/#findComment-214094 Share on other sites
