tomkiwi
Hey Guys, i've just finished downloading the Jas 10.4.7 ISO REPACK and the Jas 10.4.8 AMD sse3 updatev2 (which i might add took 3 days downloading at 4kbs!). Anyway, i'm news to all this OSx86 stuff, basically i'm trying to install these two items onto my AMD Athlon 64bit sse2,3. I'm just wondering if i've got this right (before i go ahead and screw something up ): Burn the ISO onto a DVD using DeepBurner Boot off DVD on my Athlon and install onto my 150GB partition Load OSX, then open the v2update and open the package Reboot Done?! Any additional information would be a really helpfull, Looking forward to my Macintosh! Cheers, Tom
JaS
thats it , you got it ... just be sure your burning software burns hybrid isos , I know nero will burn them correctly.
tomkiwi
Thanks JaS, just one more thing: I'm burning the ISO from my iMac and i'm not sure which software will do it correctly. I know toast will do it but i need to DL that... Will DeepBurner do the right thing? Or does MacOSX have the software for ISO burning built-in? Thanks
JaS
the best bet for success is toast 7 or you can use hdiutil to burn the iso from the command line , some ppl have issues burning with disk utility that it doesn't burn the hybrid iso only the hfs part.just use a dvd-rw and you can try more then once on the same disc
