foster
El Capitan DP Beta 5 Yosemite 10.10.4 Clover 3252 System Protection disabled. If I only boot into El Capitan (restart) everything is fine Problem happens after restarting into Yosemite then restarting back into El Capitan Example: start system into El Capitan restart and boot Yosemite restart and boot El Capitan - I get a kernel panic during startup - rebuilding caches fixes issue. D-an-W
I'm no expert ( ) but could it be due to something in your NVRAM, assuming you use it of course? foster
I use actual nvram since my board supports nvram and no emulation. I decided to delete all the efi-apple-payload variables using nvram -d efi-apple-payload...... for each listed variable Also found I had a duplicate copy of AppleHDA,kext, same kext in /S/L/E and /L/E so eliminated the one in /L/E which was contributing to a KP if I rebuilt caches from terminal (not single user mode) Solved the problem Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/307409-el-capitan-does-not-like-me-starting-yosemite-on-a-restart/#findComment-2157619 Share on other sites
