Ruud
I'm a happy i can use osx on my acer 5024, but one thing that is really giving me a headache is that there still isn't a way to turn on the wireless card used within these laptops. And because of that, I will start working on a way to turn it on. I wil be starting with the code from acer_acpi driver in linux. I don't know that much about programming in osx, but i'm learning c now. I've askes a teacher to give me a point in the right direction, and i'm hoping he will find some time to help me with this. I won't promise anything but i will give it a shot. Wish me succes, Ruud Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30727-wireless-button-in-laptops-acer/ Share on other sites
markhoney
How did you get it working? Which method worked for you and how hard is it to do? I'd really like to install OSx on my Acer 5024 but haven't managed to do it yet. asstastic
Most ACER laptops use the Intel wireless cards. Did you switch yours out? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30727-wireless-button-in-laptops-acer/#findComment-226120 Share on other sites

yarrix
use tape and mask pins 11 and 13 (next to each other, top side - the side with the antenna plugs) of your broadcom minipci card. if you've modified the plist for 4318 device id, and done the en0 -> en1 change, you'll be seeing all the wireless networks around you after you reboot. good luck, this is solved. *note: wireless will always be on from now on, and you can only software control it. no more button.
