ncmontas
Does anyone make this work on their hdmi audio enabled hackintosh? OSX does not support this natively because of the osx driver this is according to other sources in the internet. I am hoping someone here has a workaround for it. I have tried various configurations and drivers but i just get DTS or DD on my receiver, can get DTS-HD-MA or DD-TRUE-HD to passthrough the hdmi going to the receiver. TheRacerMaster
According to the Kodi (formerly XBMC) devs, OS X doesn't have any support for passing through HD audio formats. You can decode them as LPCM (TrueHD has an open-source decoder in Kodi; DTS-HD MA has one that was literally just integrated into ffmpeg last week) and send them over HDMI. ncmontas
ok thanks i will try it, btw my HDMI audio seems weird, no sound in my amp if my source is a 2 channel stereo. I do not know if this is an issue on my amp
ncmontas
Just want to ask people out there, is it possible to hack OSX to passthrough DTS-HD-MA or DD-TRU-HD?
Slice
Try VoodooHDA with AC3 support . The link is in my signature. It does passthrough coded digital to output.
TheRacerMaster
Dolby Digital/DTS can pass through fine, but I'm pretty sure their lossless counterparts (TrueHD/DTS-HD MA) can't be passed through on OS X.
