shreniktroll
Hello, I am new to the hackintosh community, and I have a problem. When I boot up OSX Yosemite, my internet does not work, I am connected by ethernet. Also, I am dual booting OSX with windows, and in Windows, my ethernet cable works and my internet is working. My motherboard is a Maximus VI formula, so I am not sure which kexts to use. Thanks for the help. I am not sure if this helps, but my processor is a Intel i7-4770, my GPU is a GTX 780, and I have 16GB of RAM. styrian
Hello! I think, that your ethernet card is an onboard one. Look in the windows device manager or get DPCI manager on OSX to find out the manufacturer and type. You have to install the correct kext and set in your bootloader config ethernet to builtin. Have fun. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/304109-maximus-vi-ethernet/#findComment-2105373 Share on other sites

Have fun. In my Device Manager, under network adapters, I have Intel® Ethernet Connection I217-V. So which kext would I use? Because neither of the mention I217, and how would I edit the config for Chimera? I'm sorry for so many questions, I'm new to the whole hackintosh concept. Thanks! styrian
Hello! Try to install the kext from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/osx86drivers/files/Kext/ Chimera and the other TM stuff is not supported here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/ http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275941-very-important-please-read-about-tonymacx86-and-iatkos-m/ Chimera was known for changing some default values in the config, which are not well working on Asus mainboards. There is no need to change them. You do better to get one of the here supported versions of Chameleon from the download section and install it with without changing the default values for PCIRoot and NPCI. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/category/7-bootloaders/ (Enoch or Chameleon or even Clover, when you are a bit more experienced) For all possible options of Chameleon look here please: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/284994-all-the-possible-boot-options-for-chameleon/?do=findComment&comment=2104312 Have fun. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/304109-maximus-vi-ethernet/#findComment-2105572 Share on other sites

rafacaster
Hey, sorry bringing a dead post back to the living but, I got the same problem and apply this solution and it seems to work. But, I installed the Security Update 2016 and the problem came back. Any chance to this patch makes any change on this? I mean, applied some default values to PCIRootID and NPCI?
