1. Have managed to boot into Finder without a usb but cannot see the outside world. Could you please help me to enable Marvell 80E8056 ethernet access on 10.9.5 13F34 ?
2. This is a dedicated thread about the intel 8255X based ethernet cards which, although being old (but also very cheap and easy to find used online), they still works in the latest macOS releases today i tested mine with the 64 bit compiled AppleIntel8255X kext and works like a charm! stable and withou any issues with mine 100 mbit managed ethernet switch and also without suffering of problems like connection dieing under heavy load or sleep/wake issues, so just to report that i have create this dedicated thread about and also i leave the kext as an attachment, in this post, this may be usefoul to have cheap working ethernet for hackintosh machines running the latest macOS or just to reuse old hardware some one can have laying around. AppleIntel8255x.kext.zip
3. I have started this thread to discuss about old and very cheap ethernet cards working in the latest macOS releases, cards who just uses old ethernet controllers or are new and cheap cards with old ethernet controllers, this thread is just to discuss about such cards and also to have a list in the first post with reported working cards with drivers linked. To contribute you have to report which card of this kind is working for you and which driver or method you followed to get it wo work and also which issues you have, and then it will be added in the list. I start reporting cards which worked for me, yours will be added in the future: intel 8255X based cards: just works using the AppleIntel8255X kext (look in the attachments) and seems to be stable with no issues And also there are some cards i am curious to see if can work with mac, so i leave this part at the end of the post, do you know if it's possible to get realtek pci (not pci express) ethernet cards working in the latest mac os? i have a few of them and i have difficulties fining drivers for mac, having a driver for the latest mac wil help me in creating also a youtube video with the cheapest hackintosh compatible ethernet cards AppleIntel8255x.kext.zip
4. Hello, I am currently using El Capitan with an Asus Maximus II Formula, but the mainboard has a weird bug that the system freezes when im using the built in ethernet ports. (not only in macos, also in linux and windows) ... so i was using a USB Dongle wich worked fine, but the performance (USB2) was not the best. Now i want to add a ethernet-card to the system. Is there a cheap, and simple to install (maybe native?) PCIe Ethernet Networkcard that can be recommended? thank you greets
5. Hello, I have done a semi-successful install of macOS Sierra 10.12.6 on my Dell OptiPlex 3010. When I mean semi-successful, I mean I have some issues left, one of them is Networking. Networking, meaning Ethernet, does not seem to work on this machine after installing Mac OS. I've tried installing kext files, reinstalling Sierra, and so on but nothing seems to work, I have an Ethernet cable plugged and it's lights flashing and whatever but the connection does not show up in Sierra. My PC Specs are: Dell OptiPlex 3010 MT Intel Core i3-3240 @ 3.40GHz AMD Radeon HD 7470 4GB of RAM Realtek RTL8111E So, Any Help? -Discount_Mac

8. Mieze: After upgrading to 10.12.4, my Ethernet ports are not working. Wifi is, but any Ethernet LAN port will not work. I've tried three different ethernet cards, including my internal motherboard card/port, and none are working. I have the latest IntelMausi driver from ReHabMan, (3/21), but nothing seems to work. Tried other versions, no luck. None of the cards will accept DHCP. You can manually address them, and they do respond to a self ping, but they cannot ping anywhere else. Not to my local router, (or any local IP addresses), and not to the Internet. I tried removing all of the network interfaces and the plist and rebooting - that didn't work either. Internal Ethernet chip is: Intel® I218V, 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller $ kextstat | grep Mausi 64 0 0xffffff7f83ac3000 0x24000 0x24000 com.insanelymac.IntelMausiEthernet (2.2.1) 43B3C3B1-E032-3C2B-8598-320889964F57 <53 12 5 4 3 1> ping PING ( 56 data bytes ping: sendto: No route to host ping: sendto: No route to host Request timeout for icmp_seq 0 ping: sendto: No route to host Request timeout for icmp_seq 1 ping: sendto: No route to host Request timeout for icmp_seq 2 ping: sendto: No route to host Request timeout for icmp_seq 3 ping: sendto: No route to host (but adding a default route doesn't work either, as the route shows as already added (or the Wifi card wouldn't be able to get to the Internet). I do have loaded the latest drivers from NVidia for 10.12.4. Most everything else works, just would like to get one of my wired Ethernet ports working. I have an Asus X99-A II (Bios version is 1501), 64 GB of DDR4 RAM, NVMe Samsung drive, GTX 980 TI with the latest drivers from NVidia, and of course 10.12.4. Most everything works. Just would like to get my LAN cards working.
10. Hello, After reading the FAQ on tonymacx86 and doing a successful install of MacOS Sierra on my HP laptop, I tried to get the ethernet working. I installed the RealtekRTL8100.kext from mieze (from the FAQ). It recognises the ethernet cable but there is no connection to the internet. I've read every forum post with the same ethernet card and people that have the same problem. And I installed some other kexts but those didn't work at all. Name: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Hardware id: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_8099103C&REV_0A It should be a RTL8101e. I've a dual boot with Windows 10 and everything is working fine there. Can someone please help me? I attached my files, look at "problem report" at the bottom of the page. files.zip
11. Patient: Intel i350 ethernet built into Supermicro X9DAi motherboard. Symptoms: constant disconnects on upload (files to FTP / sending emails w. attachments / using services like dropbox or wetransfer / browser uploads / ... ), so only restart helps. Treatment: edit info.plist of AppleIGB.kext (wherever u use it) and change the NETIF_F_TSO key under i350 dictionary to false: <key>i350</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.insanelymac.driver.AppleIGB</string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>AppleIGB</string> <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x15218086</string> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOPCIDevice</string> <key>NETIF_F_TSO</key> <false/> </dict> Restart your machine and enjoy full power of your ethernet never ever crashing on large packet upload. --- FYI I use hnak's AppleIGB kext (5.3.5): https://sourceforge.net/projects/osx86drivers/files/Kext/Snow_or_Above/ located at CLOVER/kexts/10.10 on my system's EFI partition. --- Technical background (in Linux): https://tejparkash.wordpress.com/2010/03/06/tso-explained/ --- Fred says: thats all!
12. I just did a clean install of Sierra and set everything up. All is working well, but I noticed something very strange. I am dual booting a Dell OptiPlex 7010 with Windows 10 on an SSD and Sierra on a separate HDD. While in windows my network is proper. I am behind a firewall and use the firewall DNS server settings and have the proper IP scheme. However when I boot into Sierra, I get a completely different IP scheme from the router DNS server that is on the outside of the firewall. I'm connected via a single ethernet line behind the firewall, so I cannot for the life of me figure out how my hackintosh is bypassing/skipping/passing through the firewall and going to the main router for DNS. This obviously causes problems, because I can't get to anything on my network from the Sierra build. This was not an issue on El Capitan before I wiped the drive and fresh started with Sierra. Any help or insight would be much appreciated.
13. I have been able to successfully get my 'hack' working. However I am not able to get ethernet working in 10.11.5 for the life of me. I am using Clover v2.3k r3526 with IntelMausiEthernet v2.0.0 loaded into my kexts/10.11 folder. The problem is that when I go to About this Mac/System Report/Ethernet cards, it shows the message: "This computer does not appear to have any PCI Ethernet Cards installed". The motherboard I have is Asus Z170M-Plus (with ethernet port Intel I219-V). Has anyone had any luck with getting ethernet to work. If so, any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
14. Hi Folks, Newbie here so sorry if this in in the wrong place. I have a "mac pro" hackintosh running Yosemite 10.10.4 The mobo is a gigabyte GA-H87N-WIFI The GB website says that the two LANs are Intel® GbE LAN chip (10/100/1000 Mbit)(LAN1) and Atheros® GbE LAN chip (10/100/1000 Mbit)(LAN2) "* Teaming is not supported." (whatever the hell that means) http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4601#sp I'm trying to use the ethernet to get online but either port still gives the "ethernet not connected" error message. System report says no ethernet cards are installed. I'm not a stranger to some programming and command line stuff, but mostly in linux. I believe I need to insert a kext file to drive the onboard LANs but Im a) nervous about making sure I get the right one , and b ) don't have the first clue how or where to insert it. Any help very gratefully received Cheers
15. Hi. I'm having some issues with my PCIe ethernet. I installed applertl8139ethernet.kext using ##### on hackintosh zone yosemite distro. My laptop is dell n5010. This is my kernel panic after i use internet for a couple of minutes. BTW my ethernet used to work Out of the box on mavericks. PS: RehabMan's and lnx2mac's kexts dont work either.
16. My MOBO - Asrock FM2A78 Pro3+ My boot flags: -v -x npci=0x3000 GraphicsEnabler=No (The -x is because I can't boot without it, a problem for another time though. It's pointless putting time into that if I can't get ethernet working anyway) It is always saying "Cable unplugged". Ethernet works fine on windows. Please Help. I have tried a lot of things but can't seem to get it working. The Ethernet is recoginised as en0. Please feel free to ask me anything. Thanks For Your Time Dawid.
17. Hello, I have a problem with my network. Gets disconnected apparently without any reason, just randomly, especially when downloading, but sometimes also when I'm only navigating. If I'm not wrong, ethernet model is an RTL8111/8169 (or 8168, I'm not sure...), and the kext which I'm using is the RTL81xx which is the only that works for me... I tried a lot of them. I would try to use wi-fi but I don't have the kext driver for my Linksys WMP600N. Plus, I'm too far from the router so I guess the signal would be very bad. That would be the 2nd option, in case we can not solve the above problem... Any suggestions? RealtekRTL81xx.kext.zip
18. Help me Insanelymac you're my only hope! (7 days and counting!) So let me start out by admitting yes, I am running on a rather old build. That being said, everything runs 100% without issue, except the Ethernet...until I restart. My build is as follows Motherboard: EVGA P55V with BIOS 02.64 Processor: Intel i7 860 Graphics Card: XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 Ram: 4GB DDR3 1600 Mhz (will be 16 by the end of the week) Network: 82578DC Intel The system has been running like a champ since 2009 on Snow Leopard. I have used it without issue since then, but decided it was time to get the rig up to date and decided to install Yosemite. I installed it using methods not to favorable on this site (I read up before posting), but it has worked for me in the past so I did it again. Everything worked as expected without kernel panic or other common issues found on these forums. That all being said, on initial start up I have no NIC. I am talking unrecognized hardware. Computer says there is no cable plugged in like it's an unrecognized card. As soon as I restart, BAM. Everything works perfect and the internet works without issue. Both AppleIntelE1000e.kext and IntelMausiEthernet.kext work, but I decided to go with Mausi (it appears to be faster). I have tried a multitude of things over the past several nights. DSDT edits, different FakeSMCs, Different boot flags, different kexts, changes to different plists including deleting the Network preference files. Everything I do has zero effect on fixing the ethernet. Enclosed are 4 pictures. Pre-Restart and Post-Restart show my IORegistry with the en0 magically showing up after restart. Fail is the console log when Ethernet fails to initialize on startup, Success is on the restart when it works. ANY assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am bashing my head in trying to solve this issue. I know the easiest solution would probably be just to buy a pcie card, but as I said, this works perfectly on restart AND worked without issue on Snow Leopard for years. Thanks in advance. 19. Since my other post was vague and stopped getting responses, I will start threads based on each issue to see if that helps. So since I installed Yosemite and ran Vietnam with the Chameleon bootloader, almost everything is working except audio (i ordered a usb audio interface to get around this for now), and the biggest mystery for me is the Ethernet. Upon installation I selected the appropriate AppleIntelE1000e kext from Vietnam but my ethernet didn't work. I repaired permissions and kext cache using kext utility and then re-installed the AppleIntelE1000e kext from Vietnam. Restarted and internet worked. Shutdown my machine for the night and came back the next day to another issue with screens and desktops, and ethernet mysteriously stopped working again. I didn't think much of it and figured with all my tinkering with Model Identifiers and screen options I must have somehow messed up the Ethernet. - I repaired permissions and kext cache using kext utility and then re-installed the AppleIntelE1000e kext from Vietnam. Restarted and internet worked again. I kept my computer on for a while, Restarted a bunch of times and never had a problem. Turned off my computer again for the night, came back this morning to NO ETHERNET again. The kext is still in the S/L/E folder but nothing shows up under DPCI manager for ethernet. What could be happening here? Any info I can provide that will be helpful, lmk. Thanks Edit: I just restarted my computer while typing this and now ethernet is working again. I didn't repair or install anything, just simply restarted. Something must be happening on a shutdown overnight. Double Edit: I just confirmed this behavior by shutting down and waiting 2 minutes. Powered back up and had no ethernet. Restarted from that point and ethernet works.
20. On 10.11.1, most of the time, I don't have working internet or USB3 (both the NIC and usb3 are PCIe cards). Occasionally, about every 4th or 5th boot, they will work. Even when it's not working, the NIC is detected under System Profiler and shows up as "Connected" under the Preferences, but I can't ping any addresses, even my router. I have tried flushing the cache. Same goes for the USB3 - hardware shows up but is not functional. I've had this problem going from Mavericks to Yosemite but fixed it by installing old versions of the following kexts: AppleACPIPlatform.kext (version 2.0) IOACPIFamily.kext (version 1.4) IOPCIFamily.kext (version 2.8) IOUSBFamily.kext (version 675.4.0) I have not been able to upgrade past 10.10.3 with these kexts due to dependencies changing, etc. I was hoping a clean 10.11.1 would just fix everything (naive, I know). The situation is the same with both Clover and Chameleon installations, and I've tried several smbios's (3,1 and 5,1, iMac14,2). I have one other PCIe card - my 980 GTX, which works 100 percent of the time. My mobo (see signature) is a server board so I'm sure this problem is due to some strangeness related to how PCIe is set up on my board. I just don't know where to look or what to do to fix the problem. I thought about adding the cards to my DSDT but since they are always detected I'm not sure that would make a difference? I can also use IORegistryExplorer but don't really know what I'm looking for. Any guidance or suggestions are appreciated!
21. This is my first attempt to hackintosh. I've installed Mieze's Realtek8111/8168.kext and I can select ethernet on the network settings however, it's not recgonizing the cable being plugged although it seems like realtek boots up just fine in -v. Can you connect to the internet on 10.10.5 with an amd processor? Thank you. Edit:NVM. Got it to work. A combination of using bronya's kernal and replace kext(cache yosemite AMD), I finally got it to work. This will make you not need to boot up with npci=0x2000.
22. Hello everyone! I have an iMac 21,5 (mid2011). After updating El Capitan my Ethernet quit working. When I update to Yosemite I already had this issue, but it can fixed this solution: Today this solution dont work. System says I can't make this. How I can fix my issue? Maybe I need to download and install new driver for Ethernet Card? But I don't know there I can download new driver and how I can install it. Do you can help me? System info about my Ethernet Cards:
23. Kernel Panic on Using RealtekRTL8111 kext

Hi Guys, Thanks a lot devs for making hackintosh possible on AMD. I just updated to 10.10.5 from 10.10.3 and I get Kernel Panic until I remove the RealtekRTL8111.kext from S/L/E My Config: FX 8120 GA 970A DS3 (Non UEFI) 24GB DDR3 320GB HDD I am using Chameleon as bootloader. Everything was working fine in 10.10.3 I updated and used the kernel and other files in Zip in AMD Development Section. Everything else is working fine. It boots all fine If I remove the kext and clear the cache. I have tried both v 1.2.3 and 2.0 It doesnt boot into Safe Mode with the kext. Kindly Help finding a solution. I mainly use this for iOS development. I have a Mac book Air but its too small for long time work.
