Jimmiegin
Hi, I have been trying to install Yosemite on my OptiPlex 755 sff following many tutorials. Some from here some from the other forums and some on youtube. I have followed a guide/tut from CPUkid and made an installer USB but I am getting the message unsupported platform reason f4208ca9 and so far my search results tell me it is an issue with my smbios. Due to the fact that there is far to many ideas and methods to fix this and everyone seems to have different ways of saying and doing stuff there is far to much info for me to find a clear way to do this. I have chameleon wizard and I can ether create a new SMBios or use the one from my working Lion 10.7.2 but will that work? Anything I have missed or not mentioned that I need to do? Like do I create an Extra folder on my installer USB? Also should I install FakeSMC.kext to s/l/e or to Extra (if I create one).
