carlocav
I have a Dell XPS 8000 (quad core-8thread i7 860 2.8Ghz, nVidia GTS 240 1GB, 6GB RAM) without AHCI mode so I am able to install OS X only with the AppleAHCIport.kext Is a computer without AHCI mode slower than a computer with it? I have the possibility to replace it with a less powerful PC that support AHCI Mode. This PC is a Dell Inspiron 580mt (quad core-4 thread i5 750 2.66Ghz, Nvidia GeForce G350 512MB, 6GB RAM). Should I replace my PC with the slower but AHCI compatible one?
Slice
You should not compare different computers. On the one computer AHCI mode made it faster. Sometime without AHCI mode MacOSX can't work at all.
