so i've finally managed to install snow leopard on my acer aspire one zg5 but i don't have any sound.

i tried using kext utility to install these but not only did it not work it also broke something in my system where i can no longer properly restart or shut down my netbook without holding the power button down.

can anyone tell me whats causing this and how would i go about fixing it (as well as enabling sound) because its driving me crazy that it won't let me properly shut down my netbook

edit: i've fixed the shutdown issue by performing the steps listed here (and as a result OSX boots very fast! :D )

but still no sound....and i'm not sure i want to use these utilities anymore and would rather manually install them because as i understand those other utilities perform other functions as well when i just want 1 thing installed

second edit: okay after another attempt using kext helper b7 and a vague "turn off the computer" error after booting into safe mode and rebooting i now have sound! yay!!!!!!!!
