fggs
Good evening, I have this laptop from signature which has an ALPS PS2 Touchpad, it works as a mouse with default kexts (ApplePS2Controller and AppleACPIPS2Nub) that came with myHack 3.3.1, but it's annoying because I can't enable "Tap to click" as it is not detected as trackpad. I just tried VoodooPS2Controller version 1.8.12 and the touchpad goes crazy, jumping all around the screen and I can't change setting as SystemPrefs->Trackpad says "No trackpad found". I made sure to delete every single PS2 related kexts from the system and I've followed installation instructions to the letter. My guess is that even if it is detected as ALPS, somehow VoodooPS2SynapticsTrackpad still probes it. From the logs I can see: E7: { 0x73, 0x02, 0x0a } and E6: { 0x00, 0x00, 0x64 } Anything else I can provide? Any other version to try? Thanks in advance! Pimentel
Hello Even instaled VoodooPS2SynapticsTrackpad you need install AppleACPIPS2Nub, because this kext alone doens't work. If won't work... Try install this kext: http://nawcom.com/osx86/files/10.6/PS2/VoodooPS2Controller/kexts/VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext.zip Install with Kext Wizard and update cache
fggs
Thanks for your quick reply Pimentel! I've followed the instructions here: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller/wiki/How-to-Install About the kext you linked, do I need to remove anything before installing it? Do I need to install AppleACPIPS2Nub for that as well? Also I forgot to mention touchpad model, it's ALPS AUI1303
Pimentel
Hello Remove that kext you're using before. Yes.. you need, because VoodooPS2.... and VoodooTrackpad... need AppleACPIPS2Nub to work
fggs
Thanks again for your reply, will test later today, one question: any AppleACPIPS2Nub will do or does it have to be a specific version?
RehabMan
Thanks again for your reply, will test later today, one question: any AppleACPIPS2Nub will do or does it have to be a specific version? If you are using my VoodooPS2 kext, you should not install AppleACPIPS2Nub -- it is built in. Read/follow installation instructions carefully: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller

fggs
Yes RehabMan, I'm using your kext and AppleACPIPS2Nub is not installed. As I said, I'm using version 1.8.12 but touchpad is not working well, pointer is jumping around the screen even with a small touch. Any other debug info I could provide? I gave the E7 and E6 from the logs and the model Thanks in advance

If you have something else, you should search around for one appropriate for your hardware. There is an ALPS version of my kext, for example. fggs
Thanks Rehab, well, unfortunately it didn't work, I'll try debug version to see what's happening, I don't see many coders playing with PS2 kexts, specially from Alps..
Pimentel
Hello Did ou try what i ask to you??? Please try test this kext: http://nawcom.com/os...ackpad.kext.zip Remove VoodooPS2 kext... And install too AppleACPIPS2Nub
fggs
Thanks Pimentel, the one you recommended didn't work, but I've found one that works. My touchpad has two buttons, with the kext that works: - No gestures (no need, that's fine) - Scrolling is reversed. - Left button is used to drag. - Right button act as right button, but I have to hold it then select the option I want. Is this behavior similar to stock Macbooks or at least close to? Thanks!
