flava
Hi Guys I have made a usb installer of Yosemite but when I get to the selection of where I want to install Yosemite no hard drives are visible only the usb installer I made. I had the same problem with installing mavericks and I was kindly given (by another member on here) a modified IOPCIFamily.Kext which would then make my hard drives visible. I have installed Yosemite on a 60gb usb hard drive just for testing so know my system will run it I just need to get the internal hard drives visible. I am not sure if it helps but I have attached the modified IOPCIFamily.kext I was given to get Mavericks to see my hard drive Thanks in advance for any help http://www.filedropper.com/iopcifamilykext

WebBuilder
Hi flava, you should boot with SATA AHCI mode in the bios.

RCOO
Try using the flag -x with the installer. I had the same problem in Mavericks install until I booted the installer in safe mode.
flava
I managed to sort this by installing to a usb hard drive then cloning the usb hard drive to my internal hard drive I have had to add a few kexts but yes all working fine on my Dell optiplex
shinglestrugglebottle
what exactly did you do? I tried this but when I tried booting back to the usb after the install I kept getting kernel panics. What kexts did you use? Mind posting DSDT?
