cultura
Hi guys.. First of all let me say I'm new to the whole hackintosh scene. I have understood the basics, but certainly not an expert. These last two weeks I've been trying to install OS X 10.9 on my MSI GE70 (specs below), with success! Managed to get most everything working except for iCloud. I realize this is a common issue and so I have searched the forums for a solution as I have with any other of my hackintosh related problems. However I didn't find a working solution for this. Specs: MODEL: MSI GE70 2OE CPU: Intel Core i7-4700MQ @ 2.40GHz (Haswell) GRAPHICS: Intel HD 4600 + Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M 2GB GDDR5 STORAGE: 120GB SSD Raid (Windows) + 750GB HHD Sata (OSX) (Using AHCIPortInjector to boot RAID in bios) SOUND: Realtek ACL892 ETHERNET: Qualcomm Atheros Killer E2200 WIFI: TP-Link TL-WN725N (v.2.0) USB (bought this one because my built in wifi card was unsupported) I've tried "everything".. It seems it's "required" that you have an ethernet connection as your main connection (en0) and that this ethernet is "built-in". I've managed to achieve this by doing fresh re-install with only the ethernet connection available (and fully working thanks to ALXEthernet Killer e2200 kext). I checked in the NetworkInterfaces.plist and the connection is indeed both "en0" and "IOBuiltin" is "true". I've used a MacbookAir6,2 smbios, tried setting the "device-properties" and (both at the same time and not) set "EthernetBuiltIn" in the Chameleon boot plist, updated Chameleon to latest version.. Hell, I even created a new apple id to ensure there wasn't anything wrong with my current one.. But all with no luck.. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you. arcade33
ok just put attach kext in S/L/E repair with kext utility reboot you must have in your boot.plist this string <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> reply if it's ok PlatformUUID.kext.zip
cultura
Thank you for your suggestion arcade33, but unfortunately still no luck Did as you suggested, except you wrote boot.plist (but mine is "org.chameleon.Boot.plist"). Don't know if it makes any difference.
arcade33
my "org.chameleon.Boot.plist "is <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Credits</key> <string>Created with Champlist</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>npci=0x2000</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>DType</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> <key>USBBusFix</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>USBLegacyOff</key> <string>No</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist> my smbios.plist is <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Credits</key> <string>Created with Champlist</string> <key>SMbiosvendor</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMbiosversion</key> <string>MBP51.88Z.007E.B06.1202061253</string> <key>SMboardproduct</key> <string>Mac-F42D86C8</string> <key>SMfamily</key> <string>MacBook Pro</string> <key>SMproductname</key> <string>MacBookPro5,1</string> <key>SMserial</key> <string>G88322DC1G0</string> </dict> </plist> like you can see i use CHAMPLIST to get a good hack MAVERICKS is installed on a labtop " DELL VOSTRO 1710 " if your ethernet card is working well and that you have " <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> in your " org.chameleon.Boot.plist " your problem is coming from your " smbios.plist " can you login in the APPSTORE ???? i have 4 hacks on MAVERICKS and all is working like a charm so if you don't know how use CHAMPLIST , i'll help you post and i'll reply Champlist.app.zip

cultura
Yes this is my first (successful) hack. Yes I can login to App Store. Only iCloud doesn't work. The error is: "Unable to sign in because of a problem communicating with iCloud.". Edit: Also FaceTime and iMessage doesn't work. However this is an activation error instead. org.chameleon.Boot.plist+SMBios.plist.zip
MilesMan
Hey try using Chameleon Wizard, then go to the modules tab, then check FileNVRAM.dylib. I vaguely remember this fixing it
cultura
Hi mvd120. I allready tried that and now just tried it again - no luck
warlikewings
For me running clover worked, having my internal Ethernet card kext installed (though I don't use it) also seemed mandatory, and editing the smbios through clover configurator. If you're able to, I'd try switching to clover on a usb stick and see if it helps anything For your laptop, you probably want to be running the smbios for MacBookPro 11,2 or 11,3 see which works better
