Wal-Mart and other stores have a $20 threshold on when they will prosecute for shoplifting. If you shoplift $19 worth of merchandise, they will let you off with a stern talking to. They have decided that the cost of prosecuting anything less than $20 will cost more than allowing the occasional item out the door.

At best, a PC user installing OSX could be charged with stealing a $100 item. It would cost Apple a lot of money to track down users on this board, get their real names and addresses, get their IP number and organize the legal documents to have police get a warrant to search their computer to prove they have indeed stolen their product.

If someone was selling the installer for profit, they would probably get more interested. If the installer was easier to install and distributed in a large organized fashion, they would be interested.

Plus, if Apple is really monitoring this board, they will see that this effort has actually inspired many people to go buy a real Mac from Apple.
