Of course if you're not connected to the internet it can't do its job. If you have Windows installed you can use the Windows version. The Windows version will show you exactly the same information - your hardware doesn't magically morph into other hardware when you run a different OS on it. I haven't used this tool since it was first released a very long time ago.
