jamiethemorris Posted December 1, 2013 Share Posted December 1, 2013 If you check out the mavericks kernel testing on AMD thread in development you will see that amd support is improving a lot. However, you're probably better off spending a little bit more on an equally or better performing Intel processor like the i3-4130 (around $130). You can even get some quad core i5's for under 200. So yes, you should be able to run 10.8/10.9, but you'll save yourself a lot of trouble if you go with Intel. Look at the benchmarks and you'll see that there are Intel processors in the same price range that perform better. They may have less cores, but the hyperthreading helps a lot.
