alternatively, here is the one from the Darwin CD...

 

 

the problem is this:

when using that kext I uploaded, where exactly do you add the vendor ID info? the guide tells you to find an area that says Nvidia AC97... But there is no heading (or what ever it is called in programing lingo) that has that name in that .kext from the Darwin CD

 

So where do I edit?

Some discover that some other kexts copied from DarwinCD makes difference:

 

AudioAC97audio.kext

IOAudiofamilie.kext

AudioDeviceTreeUpdater.kext

VirtualAudioDriver.kext

 

Try them, edit Info.plist if needed.

I am using Jas 10.4.8 SSE2 SSE3 PPF1 PPF2

 

I still don't have sound .. I tried using the default AppleAC97Audio.kext which for some reason has my chip/vendor in it.

kextload says its loaded successfully but no sound whatever so...

 

Anybody please help.. am a newbie!!!!
