Huckleberry Pie
Anyone had any luck with getting this to work? I won't mind doing a DSDT edit but a DSDT-less solution would be 'swell.
Hurrian
You need to set the codec ID to "1" in the DSDT, and use a certain Toleda's optimized ALC888 kext from The-Site-Which-Shall-Not-Be-Named. Also, I found that on Mavericks, npci=0xNNNN is no longer needed (and can mess with PCI things) on certain motherboards.

VoodooHDA 2.4 works, but I'll have to test it first as I've experienced KPs and/or static with using them before.
Xirci
Toleda's ALC 888 Legacy kext just works for me. Motherboard: IPIBL-LB / ALC 888S http://iatkos.me/forum/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=23310
