  1. Asus P6X58D Premium / No Audio

On 10.9, use a Toleda-patched AppleHDA for ALC889 kext (and set Audio ID to 1 with DSDT) For LAN, you can hexedit and flash a BIOS with a new Option ROM, or install AppleYukon2Injector.kext. Side note: has anybody got ALC889 working on P6X58D-E/Premium for Yosemite?
  2. I'm running a GTX 580 on my machine, and picked up a second monitor recently. I noticed that when I plug in the second monitor, my GPU goes all the way up to the max speed even if I'm just browsing/listening to music/etc. Heard that it was "by design" - naturally rendering two monitors would take some more power, but I didn't think it'd burn that much power. Clock speeds remain stuck after unplugging the second monitor. How can I return clock speed to normal? For reference, here's my current AGPM config. <key>Vendor10deDevice1080</key> <dict> <key>Heuristic</key> <dict> <key>ID</key> <integer>0</integer> <key>IdleInterval</key> <integer>250</integer> <key>SensorOption</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>SensorSampleRate</key> <integer>4</integer> <key>TargetCount</key> <integer>5</integer> <key>Threshold_High</key> <array> <integer>25</integer> <integer>75</integer> <integer>90</integer> <integer>100</integer> </array> <key>Threshold_Low</key> <array> <integer>0</integer> <integer>97</integer> <integer>97</integer> <integer>98</integer> </array> </dict> <key>LogControl</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>control-id</key> <integer>18</integer> </dict>
  3. HWSensors

I've updated from FakeSMC 6.0.1330 to 6.8.1307, and while everything is good, my case fans (connected to motherboard-controllable fan headers) shut down :/ Heatsink fans still run, though. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Did FakeSMC finally add a way to control fans from userspace?
  4. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

Anyone have AGPM working properly with the 1st Generation HD Graphics? I'm on a Thinkpad X201(with LPC, HPET, SpeedStep and C/P States enabled), and my cores are getting quite toasty (5-8C higher than Windows) with QE/CI enabled. I'm totally stumped on what to do next- Vendor8086Device0046 is in AGPM.kext, but I'm still getting [AGPM Controller] unknownPlatform messages in the system log
  5. Hey there, fellow X58D-E user! Logged in to iEverything with Mavericks GM - it's out to devs, surely they anticipate testing it out with different Apple accounts for app testing etc. I use the newest FakeSMC kexts, the Yukon injector, and a patched AppleHDA, that's it. All three are loaded by Mavericks without complaint. Mavericks works a lot better on this board than ML - IIRC ML required a AppleACPIPlatform rollback, Mavericks doesn't.
  6. ALC888 on Mavericks GM

You need to set the codec ID to "1" in the DSDT, and use a certain Toleda's optimized ALC888 kext from The-Site-Which-Shall-Not-Be-Named. Also, I found that on Mavericks, npci=0xNNNN is no longer needed (and can mess with PCI things) on certain motherboards.
  7. Worked fine on 10.9 DP1, installed the combo update for DP8, and it's a no-go. Looking at -v, it seems that it can't link the symbols for nvdanv50hal (WTF!) Can anyone else with a card in the series confirm this? I suspect it has somethink to do with Apple splitting the Tesla driver (seen on netkas.org)
  8. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

Hey guys, quick question: What kexts do I use for Mavericks? It seems that there are only 4 kexts for Intel HD Graphics instead of the 5 on ML. Do I use the 10.8.5 kexts, or do I just patch 10.9's framebuffer?
  9. I tried putting the Network legacy kext in /S/L/E and IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins, but all it does is throw an error in dmesg about PMStop. It never pulls up the MAC address for the LAN. And as for patched ALC889 kexts, I've tried all of them out there, and they all throw sound assertion errors... If both of them go unsolved by the time Mavericks gets GM'd, I'll bite the bullet and buy a USB DAC, and an Intel NIC. EDIT: Updated to Mavericks DP5 and still the same problem. EDIT 2: Solved. Remove npci=0x3000.
  10. Xeon E5540 + P6X58D-E + GT430 + 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance High Profile Got it booting nicely, power management and all, with Mavericks DP1. Currently using Clover and a custom DSDT to boot it, prepared an install USB manually. HOWEVER: I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to enable my Marvell 88E8056 ethernet and ALC889 audio. It "just worked" on 10.8.4 (which I'm currently using) with a ALC889 patched AppleHDA and a "Legacy Kext" for ethernet (the one with just an info.plist) Loading the legacy kext for ethernet just throws up a "unable to allocate MSI interrupt" (as seen in dmesg) The patched AppleHDA does absolutely nothing on Mavericks. I've got Audio ID set to 1, btw.
  11. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

Nope. On Link Width 1, the screen's squashed to the left 2/3rds of the screen and has a "cracked" pattern on it, and the right 1/3rd is horizontally-stretched. LW2-4 have interleaved horizontal stripes, with some of the Safe Mode console text (if booting with -v) or BootX (without -v) at the bottom ~50px.
  12. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

Clover injects 1366x768, the Apple screen is nice and unstretched, but when LoginWindow kicks in, it's all scrambled
  13. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

Using an Arrandale chip (HP-Compaq CQ43-111TU, Intel Pentium P6200) LVDS single-link (verified with Linux) Tried all the Link Widths, LVDS and LVDS+VGA framebuffers. Still no dice for all of them. On LW1, the screen has the right vertical res, but the horizontal is totally squashed. On LW2-4, the entire screen is scrambled. However, I can see that the menubar is transparent (QE+CI is enabled) Right now, I'm on the CI-only kexts. Can anyone help me enable QE?
