acidos77
Not really hardware question. I've Lion and ML on different hard drives. So can boot to any of them. However, when I want to install something from app store on ML and it's installed on Lion, then app store will tell me it's installed. Moreover, spotlight will find it from other drive. I think due to that my app store is also crashing sometimes. What I want is to prevent one OS from indexing other OS's applications. Indexing documents and other files are fine and helpful. I'm not sure if app store is using the same indexing mechanism as spotlight to detect if application installed. If not, then how to let app store know not to look in other locations? nyolc8
You can add indexing exclusions (folders or whole partitions, drives) to spotlight in system preferences > spotlight prefpanel.
acidos77
This doesn't really work unfortunately. When I'm adding /LionDisk/Applications in exclude list for example on ML, in Lion spotlight settings I can see /Applications added automatically into exclusion list, which is not what I want. Same happens if I add /MountainLionDisk/Application in Lion, getting /Applications in the exclusion list. Still looking for solution.
