Go to the page for your motherboard on the site of your motherboard manufacturer and look for a list of certified compatible RAM. All manufacturers provide such a list.

 

Use any RAM on that list that meets your requirements, it makes no difference to OS X (or any other operating system you may wish to install) what brand it is, the only thing that's important is that it's compatible with your motherboard.

 

FWIW, my two previous hacks had Kingston modules.
