Hurrian
Xeon E5540 + P6X58D-E + GT430 + 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance High Profile Got it booting nicely, power management and all, with Mavericks DP1. Currently using Clover and a custom DSDT to boot it, prepared an install USB manually. HOWEVER: I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to enable my Marvell 88E8056 ethernet and ALC889 audio. It "just worked" on 10.8.4 (which I'm currently using) with a ALC889 patched AppleHDA and a "Legacy Kext" for ethernet (the one with just an info.plist) Loading the legacy kext for ethernet just throws up a "unable to allocate MSI interrupt" (as seen in dmesg) The patched AppleHDA does absolutely nothing on Mavericks. I've got Audio ID set to 1, btw.
Weezey
This is going to be the biggest hesitaiton point for me, going to wait until trail blazers like yourself get Mavericks up on the P6X58D-E before I tackle it. I find my P7P55 hackintoshes very tolerant but this one isn't at all. I'd expect that Tony fellow to be ready quickly with ALC889 but it's the network we'll have to crack. I'm in the middle of rebuilding my P6X58D-E machine and the 274KB .kext in IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins is locking up the system. Where do you put the little Legacy kext to make it work? Hurrian
I tried putting the Network legacy kext in /S/L/E and IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins, but all it does is throw an error in dmesg about PMStop. It never pulls up the MAC address for the LAN. And as for patched ALC889 kexts, I've tried all of them out there, and they all throw sound assertion errors... If both of them go unsolved by the time Mavericks gets GM'd, I'll bite the bullet and buy a USB DAC, and an Intel NIC. EDIT: Updated to Mavericks DP5 and still the same problem. EDIT 2: Solved. Remove npci=0x3000.
