karkit1028
Hi there, I am a beginner to MAC and would like to ask for your generous help. As you all know, during the setup of Mac OS X, we are asked to take a picture with iSight (mine is a MacBook) to make it as the account photo and I did it. Now I would like to backup this picture (as it mean a lot to me) but I don't know where it was saved at. Can anybody help??? Thanks~ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29027-backup/ Share on other sites

sandmanfvrga
It should be in your user/account folder I would think. Hmm, maybe use I spotlight to search. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29027-backup/#findComment-202203 Share on other sites
Patrix
Nope! I recently found it! I have no idea why it's not in the home directory, I'm sure there's a good obscure reason: It's in /Library/Caches the filename is com.apple.userYOURUSERIDpictureCache.tiff I'm not sure how to find out YOURUSERID in OS X, mine is 501 and I'm assuming that's the default for the first user created in a fresh OS X system. ahh got it. If you open the NetInfo Manager (in Utilitities) and navigate to /users/yourusername scroll down in the lower pane and it'll show you your uid and even your picture's path and filename! That's how I first found out I guess.. Patrix. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29027-backup/#findComment-202541 Share on other sites
