McSkywalker
I also had the same problem after garageband installation. Garageband switches the back and front speakers. You can easily overcome that problem by tweaking the settings in the Audio Midi Setup Utility. You can find it in the Applications/Utilities folder. kidjay
little help? i've been changing outputs around to various speakers and still can't get any output from GB. my system mix is fine, but garageband seems to be borking something within my system so that i can record just fine, but monitoring and playback = no sound even though they are showing up in the au. kidjay
I found a fix http://www.cycling74.com/downloads/soundflower Soundflower allows you do re-route stuff. 1. Install soundflower and restart as prompted 2. drag soundflowerbed to apps and launch 3. in the soundflower finder icon that's appeared, select soundflower 2ch as AC97 instead of off. 4. choose channel 3 for channel 1 and channel 6 for channel 2 (in the soundflower 2ch dropdown) 5. change GB's audio options to soundflower 2ch as the output. fin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29014-no-sound-in-garageband/#findComment-208937 Share on other sites

Mr. Surge
Try this soundflower.kext. If this one doesn't work, go to the soundflower Page (http://www.cycling74.com/downloads/soundflower) and download the source code and recompile it with xcode. This fixes the "not compatible with its superclass" error because the the kext is now compiled for your system (the superclass). This works most of the time I found when ever those devious little .kext's are incompatible with their superclasses. Please tell me what works for who.
