  1. My specific App Store can't login problem

IF your app store was working in SL: Download THIS then show contents/plugins. Find your System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext and show contents/PlugIns. Move "AppleRTL8139Ethernet.kext" "AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext" from the "IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns" you just downloaded to the one from your Lion build. Fix permissions and restart. Also make sure your ethernetbuiltin=yes in com.apple.boot Your welcome. Just in case you don't have an account there:

  3. Osx Lion iCloud

I've been having these errors with the app store and I figured I would have problems with the iCloud Beta as well. I was right. The only thing that I can think of is that my ethernet card was killed with the Lion upgrade. I think that all of Apple's services rely on the mac address from your ethernet card regardless of how you actually connect to the Internet. No mac address from your ethernet card, no Apple services... I think. Does your ethernet adaptor show up on your system info?
  4. Check out this Grape iMac!

    Thats a really cool build.
  5. I was screwing around on the newegg.com wish list feature and I found all sorts of Hackintosh builds, some of which I know will have a few problems. Newegg.com allows users to rate and comment on these wish lists. I don't work for newegg.com or anything, but, I think this could be a good forum to check out various builds, and for experienced OSX86 1337 h4x0rZ to blow down someones bogus build. Or maybe someone else knows of a userfriendly place that does something like this (other than here and similar sites) that I am just not aware of? http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWi...archItemNumber=
  6. toshiba satellite l455-S5980

I just tried it. iPC 10.5.6 will not get past the startup screen, then I tried a Snow Leopard install from a USB hard drive I patched from my mac mini (just a core OS install, no drivers or fonts, etc.) , it installed without a hitch. Except... the keyboard, trackpad, wifi, optical drive, power management (which is also how you see your battery life) CI, and QE all don't work. And there are no drivers that I can find that will completely fix any of this. It really isn't worth the 2 hours of your life you will lose installing it, unless you just want to show your friends that you figured out how to run OSX on a Toshiba laptop (but then, on the other hand, they probably don't care).
  7. Malicious Code

They could have at least got my ip address right...
  8. Malicious Code

Oh $#!+ I better download this f'n software before its too late!!!
  9. will it work

Did you check it on the wiki HCL? You might have a little CI/QE opengl compatibility issues with that graphics card. But other than that it may run fine. CORRECTION CI/QE and OpenGL WILLNOT work, so you can forget about games.
  10. 10.5.1 Kalyway Problem

I thought I didnt need any third party drivers, but It turns out i needed the Natit auto detect, and the RealTek ALC888 audio driver. But other than that this system runs flawlessly.
  11. 10.5.1 Kalyway Problem

I just bought an Intel D945GCNL, 2.93ghz Pentium 4, ATI x1300 pro PCIe, 40 SATA Seagate Barracuda, Dell 16x DVD R/RW, and I put 1Gb of DDR2 ram in it. It cost me around $250. Then I put the Kalyway 10.5.1 Installation DVD in there and everything ran perfect, it installed and worked, out of the box, without a hitch. NO third party drivers. I used xFdisk's boot manager to get XP dual booting in there, also with no problem. So I guess my problem is I really don't have anything to post about.
  12. iatkos upgrade to 10.5.3 fail

When I got a "is not compatible with its superclass" error for a kext I downloaded XCode and the source code for the kext, and compiled it on my system and that fixed the problem. Turns out, that superclass :censored2: happens when you start out with one guys patch and update with another.
