Kynyo
Hello people! I'm proud to present native tessellation technology to OS X Mavericks by OpenGL 4.1 remember OpenGL 4.1 >DirectX 11! It's time for great graphical apps & games on Mac natively! I was waiting for this so long time!
mitch_de
Yep, but remember: Beside the drivers features (now up to 4.1) the gpu itself must support features of 3.x und 4.x to get it to work. For example, my 9600 GT hasnt even all 3.x features and no (0%) of the 4.x features even running 10.9 DP1. Last but not least: Drivers + gpu (HW) and of course the developer of the mac games must use 4.1 commands in the sorce code to get tess or the other 4.x features really used in the games. Older games (new games up to now) will not have any 4.1 features without new developing and recompiling of the game. Other test for 4.x features tess is the tessmark (within the gputest). If you only get a few fps its running in softwaremode (Apple Renderer = CPU instead of AMD / Nvidia gpu renderer). Mine GTX 650 support upon OpenGL 4.3 About drivers, wait to nVIDIA update them!
stefano.85
here's the screenshot of gputest (Tessmark X8 - stress test @ 1024x640 mode) with gtx660ti and 10.9 dp1 when i select "run benchmark" it suddenly exit after bench loading up... and it shows me the results below:
