I'm having a trial and error situation on my quest to find a suitable version of Chameleon to upgrade to from Chameleon 2.1 r2069. Each one I have installed and tried so far (Chameleon-2.1-r2109, Chameleon-2.2svn-r2187, and Chameleon-2.2svn-r2232) have done nothing but fail to load both of my 10.6.8 and 10.7.4 partitions. It will only load my 10.8.3 partition. Another issue that keeps happening between each of these bootloaders I have tried is that it ruins the theme I'm using by hiding the hard disk indicator which highlights the hard disk I have selected when moving the arrow keys left and right. I eventually rolled back to Chameleon 2.1 r2069 which I was using originally. If anybody could recommend me compatible upgrade of Chameleon to install that won't break my partitions and themes i would gladly appreciate it.

I ran into similar boot problems on my Snow machine as well. I thought I could just run the latest as I'd been doing on my ML hack. Eventually I settled on r2109 and FakeSMC r645 from here. Anything higher brings pain, particularly as I need to keep 32-bit kernel support (kozlek's HWSensors dropped that a while ago). Drive indicators work fine here.

@Riley Freeman: I actually updated the FakeSMC that was bundled with kozlek's HWSensors on all 3 partitions which is a common denominator in this situation. I also meant to mention that the drive indicator does highlight on my Windows 8 drive on the bootloader screen if that even matters. I was using FakeSMC r645 until I upgraded my GPU to the GTX680 in early April.

Yeah I see what you mean. With chameleon 2.2 on my Z68 only the Windows drive will light up green. I can confirm that it works fine with r2109 on my X79. Be interesting to see when this broke and if it can be fixed again.

@Riley Freeman: I'm using Chameleon on a X58 and yes, when using each aforementioned faulty version of Chameleon the same thing happened. Are you using Chameleon on a multiboot system?

@Rampage Dev: I'm at work ATM, but I do have hidden partitions specifically my 2nd Windows drive which I use for App Installation since I initially boot with an SSD for my first Windows drive.

@Frank: My Z68 is multiboot (Windows and OS X on separate disks) and I have hidden partitions in the chameleon plist.

My X79 is just a single OS X install. But to test things I put a 10.8 system into the sata hotswap bay and plugged in a 10.8 install USB stick. No hidden partitions and the indicators worked fine across all 3 drives.

I removed the hidden partitions from chameleon on the Z68 but only the Windows/NTFS drives would go green when selected with the arrow keys. The OS X boot and install disks stayed red.
