It isn't specifcally coded to work with x64 CPU's only - it won't take advantage of the 64-bit CPU's compared to 32-bit ones. For example, in theory, a 32-bit C2D and a 64-bit C2D would see no difference (if all other hardware were exact) in perfomance when running OSx86.
