Chameleon doesn't show FAT32 volumes

Hi,

I would like to know if showing/booting FAT32 volumes is still supported in latest Chameleon releases, because I can't make it work. I tried any possible combination of FAT32 volume type (0x0B / 0x0C), size and even MBR / GUID format disks, and the FAT32 volume/s never show up in the boot selector screen.

Looking at Chameleon's theme files and a quick look at the source code (with the minimum programming knowledge I have) seems that it should be supported. Or what would be the point of having FAT32 png icons?

Is this a bug or a deprecated feature?

Any help welcome! Thank you very much!

Cheers!

I want to boot a legacy OS, in a FAT32 volume that can't be converted. The source code includes references to FAT filesystem, I think this is a bug!

Cheers!

Look in your org.chameleon.plist and look if there is a line called:

<key>Hide Partition</key> look under it and see if maybe your Drive/Partition is being hidden by chameleon.

Hi, there's no partition hiding/renaming/etc. keys in org.chameleon.plist. I'm trying Chameleon's latest release, and also some others older releases from 2011. This simple isn't working. Looks like this is an old-time bug.

There're other reports, like this one, http://forge.voodoop...eon/issues/212/, or this one http://www.insanelym...2-boot-problem/, but seems that nobody cares.

The code for FAT16/32 support is there inside Chameleon, but it looks like it isn't working.

I would like Chameleon to show FAT volumes and be able to boot from them, like it used to do in the first versions. If I would like to hide any volume/partition, I would prefer to use the "Hide Partition" key in org.chameleon.plist instead.

Any help from any developer?

Thank you very much!

New version of the module "FileNVRAM.dylib" and the Kext "FileNVRAM.kext" that allows to emulate NVRAM in the bootloader Chameleon. This version is compatible with Mac OS Yosemite, El Capitan and Sierra.

Do you need this module to work with iCloud, iMessage and Facetime when uses chameleon bootloader.

I have been trying to get iMessage working on my otherwise perfect Hackontosh.

The problem is i cannot switch to clover due to exception 64 error and it's due to my motherboard which is super old it is a Asrock-VGS3-FX  and I use a Amd Athlon x2 Black Edition OverClocked to Quad Core with 750 ti Graphics,

Now with my specs out for the way I have tried file NVRAM I placed the kext in my Extra Folder and put the modules folder in the Extra Folder but with the filenvram.dylb in the extra folder the system will not boot and also had issues with yosemite I had filenvram in my extra folder when I was running yosemite but than I update to el captain but on yosemite I had no idea how to use file nvram and how to get iMessage working,

Hi, I first started Hackintosh with a Yosemite installation. This was the second partition on an MBR drive with the first partition as NTFS w/o Windows. It worked fine despite what I've heard but it ran out of space so I cloned that partition to another drive. This was eventually pointless because it created a 160gb partition on a 500gb drive and I came to learn HFS cannot be resized if the table is MBR. Now, this clone, which I used for a long period of time, still boots fine. However, no bootloader recognizes the initial OSX partition. They both used to come up and work just fine however.

Nowadays, I'm running macOS Sierra with a Clover EFI installation which doesn't recognize the first partition, nor does the chameleon from the second clone.

I've tried installing Chameleon and Clover to that partition and booting from it, but no go.

      Thanks in advance.
