Rusty Shackleford
I have a been using both for a while and I feel that fink is becoming my favourite. Anyone have any comments on why one may be better than the other? I think fink's apt-get is what keeps me coming back since debian is my fav. linux distro. Jdhore
simply, Fink has apt-get (which is one of the most kick-ass things about Debian) and Fink has A LOT more packages in it's repository than DarwinPorts from what i've noticed...also, Fink Commander (the GUI part of Fink) is carp...go straight terminal...it's easier and faster...90% of the time in Debian when i apt-get an application, i use CLI...Synergy on Debian is very kick-ass as well, but CLI is quick and easy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/28633-fink-vs-darwin-ports/#findComment-204270 Share on other sites
