articquad
I've been through a few forums, and yet to find an answer. Hypothetically, if an OS can be booted off an external HD, why couldn't osx86 be booted off of an iPod? kemikal-aa
during my attempts with osx to boot it from an external usb drive i discovered a very clear answer. no, it cant be done... at least not to usb, its too slow. maybe a new firewire drive would work tho. Juno360
As the previous poster mentioned, it can be done but there is a performance hit Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/28561-can-an-os-be-booted-off-of-an-external-hard-drive/#findComment-195619 Share on other sites
TooSixy
I boot up MacOSX from an USB hard drive (WD 160GB USB 2.0). Works like a charm. Never tried from iPod though, but I am sure like other have said, it would take a performance hit.
