Unique New York
I have a Dell Inspiron 530, 3GB Ram, Core 2 Duo E6600, eVGA GeForce 9600GT SC. I successfully installed Hazard's build of Snow Leopard onto Virtualbox. I do not have a retail DVD of Mac OS X, nor any blank DVDs to burn. How do I go about installing this build on my spare hard drive? The only thing I have to work with is an 8GB Sandisk usb drive, which really only reads 7.48GB. Any help would be appreciated. I can get the USB drive to read through virtualbox, and am able to re-partition it to Journaled. I just don't know how to get it onto the usb drive and make it bootable. flakey
A retail copy of Snow Leopard can be still be obtained inexpensively; amazon.com has it for sale around the fifty-dollar mark. Don't know if Lion Disk Maker - http://blog.gete.net/lion-diskmaker-us/ - will work with a butchered pirate copy of Snow Leopard, but it might be worth trying. I've successfully used that utility with both Lion and Mountain Lion, bought from the App Store.
